Deacon Mike Moves to Senior Status

Thank you for your exemplary service

to Christ and His Church!

After many years of serving St. Bartholomew Parish (and other parishes), Deacon Mike has earned senior status. Mike remains a "deacon in good standing" but will no longer be expected to do as many things for the parish and region.

Fr. Jerry will continue to consult with Deacon Mike, drawing on his experience and wisdom. Deacon Mike's vocation to the diaconate is a fascinating story and a gift to the Church. We are so very grateful for his service to the Church and to us! Thank you!

Spring Clean for a Cause!

Drop-Off Times:

  • Mon - Wed, May 2-4 (7-8 PM)

  • Thur, May 5 (10 AM - 8 PM)

Mission Garage Sale:

  • Fri, May 6 (9 AM - 1 PM)

  • Sat May 7 (9 AM - Noon)

We'd love to have your gently-used items for our upcoming Garage Sale! When you donate items to the sale, that means someone else gets to use and enjoy the item - and any donation they make goes straight to the missions! Items that don't sell will be given to SVdP for their stores.

Don't think you can get through your stuff in time to get it here for the sale? No worries! The SVdP truck will be in the parking lot to collect items after the Masses on May 7 and 8... So even if your items aren't ready in time for the Garage Sale, they can still benefit SVdP.

We love to have new folks join us in setting up for the sale! Call the Parish Office if you're interested in being part of the treasure hunt team.

Sign-Ups for Tender Mercies Coming Soon!

May 14 & 15, in the lobby after Masses

(and in the St. Vivian breezeway after the 9:30 AM Mass)

Tender Mercies provides housing and related services to homeless persons with histories of emotional and mental disabilities. Because there are no kitchen facilities, residents are dependent on outside volunteers for meals.

St. Bart's has committed to preparing and serving dinner to 30-35 residents on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Participation in the ministry allows for a great deal of flexibility, from occasionally preparing one item of the meal to preparing and/or serving the entire meal for a given month. It is a very rewarding experience. To see how you might become involved, stop by our table or contact Sue Bacevich (521.8185) or Mary Ann Krusling (931.1833).

Jubilee Year of Mercy

December 8, 2015 through November 20, 2016

"We need constantly to contemplate the mystery of mercy. It is a wellspring of joy, serenity, and peace.

Our salvation depends on it...

At times we are called to gaze even more attentively on mercy so that we may become a more effective sign of the Father's action in our lives."

~ Pope Francis, in the Bull of Indiction

for the Year of Mercy

Remembering Your Loved One

Consider having the red sanctuary candle by the

tabernacle lit "in honor of" or "in memory of" your loved

one. The suggested donation would be $5, and the candle would burn for one week. Your loved one would be

mentioned in the bulletin and during the weekend

intentions. If you are interested, contact Joanne at the

parish office (522.3680).

We've adopted a seminarian!

We also give thanks for and pray for seminarians Matt Humerickhouse, Matt Zwilling, and Zachary Coulter who

Headed the Right Way?
